Recovery learning library

A field manual should help on Tuesday—not only sound wise on Sunday.

The Open Table guide library translates recovery, practical navigation, helper skills, and purpose-building into usable language for members, peers, families, staff, and partners.

Web editions and publication review

Open Table Cincy visual collage showing community support, hospitality, peer connection, and branded recovery materials. Concept visualization
Concept imagery illustrates possible guide, program, and brand uses. Final publication editions require controlled review.

Four guide families

Different readers. One reconstruction philosophy.

01

The Sober Living Survival Guide — Blueprint Edition

A reconstruction manual organized around biological stability, cognitive wiring, social integrity, identity, leadership, field operations, and the transition from survival intelligence to recovery structure.

02

The Silver Book

A Cincinnati-centered roadmap for housing, food, finances, education, employment, legal needs, transportation, childcare, recreation, community support, and other practical conditions of stability.

03

How to Help

A helper-facing guide focused on self-confidence, boundaries, emotional intelligence, practical interventions, communication, and documentation that supports growth without erasing dignity.

04

Your Recovery Journey

A whole-person member guide that explains first contact, rights, privacy, the Golden Thread, the recovery team, BRAVING, boundaries, emotional intelligence, plan review, and living with purpose.

The reconstruction sequence

Stability becomes capacity in layers.

  1. Stabilize the body

Sleep, food, hydration, hygiene, medication adherence, safety, routine, and a nervous system learning that peace is not danger.

  2. Understand the operating system

Identify thoughts, emotions, triggers, street logic, trauma responses, executive-function limits, and the difference between impulse and choice.

  3. Build relational integrity

Boundaries, truth, accountability, repair, healthy support, conflict skills, and the capacity to remain in community.

  4. Develop identity and purpose

Move from the old survival role toward adult identity, leadership, service, work, faith or meaning, and contribution.

  5. Practice in the field

Apply tools on the bus, at court, at work, in housing, in families, during criticism, and in the ordinary moments where recovery becomes real.

Publication discipline

A source document is not automatically a public web edition.

Before public release

  • Confirm organization names, addresses, and contact details
  • Review clinical, legal, and crisis language
  • Verify all resource-provider information
  • Confirm copyright and third-party references
  • Apply current branding and accessibility standards
  • Assign version, owner, review date, and correction pathway

What the website does now

  • Explains the guide families and intended audiences
  • Uses selected concepts in program education
  • Links the Silver Book logic to the Help Hub
  • Provides public-safe summaries rather than uncontrolled full files
  • Invites partners to request reviewed training or print use
  • Preserves the distinction between draft source and issued edition

The Help Hub is the live action layer. The guides are the deeper learning layer.

Search and planning help a person act now. The guide library explains why the action matters, what skills support it, and how the person can keep building after the immediate problem is solved.

Use the right tool for the moment.
